The saying goes once begun it is half done. To say it the other way around is if you begin see to it that you do it well and finish it. The central idea of the poem is resoluteness and fixity of purpose. Irrespective of great and small nothing is unimportant. It tells us to be tenacious and says if we have to courage to begin a work ,we have the guts to finish it successfully as well. If one has no dedication and he is a dillydallying person he must rather not start doing anything.
