Write change in position of atom of an element in periodic table due to emission of a and B particles from its nucleus.​

Answer:

When an alpha particle is emitted from a nucleus the nucleus will lose 2 protons and 2 neutrons which means the atomic mass number decreases by 4 and the atomic number decreases by 2. After which a new element is formed that is two places lower in the Periodic Table than the original element.
