If you means red & yellow soil. Generally is red in colour but it turns yellow in its hydrated form. It cover 10.6 % of India's total area. It is found in parts of Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh & etc.

These soils often have poorer drainage than red soils. The iron compounds in these soils are in a hydrated form and therefore do not produce the 'rusty' colour.
