Explanation:

The flute seller who sells the flute in the square near the hotel of author Vikram Seth was very talented. He was so not as other vendors and hawkers as they shour for selling their products. But the sound of flute can be heard even in the crowd or honking of vehicles. Its melodious sound doesn't let the author to 'tear away' from there. According to the author, the sound of flute was 'universal' as only flute is the muscal instrument that has place almost in evry coustoms or religions, only the difference if of their tone. The flute seller attracts all the people to it without shouting or advertising but only by his melodious sound of flute.
