1) Seeds dispersed by wind- Many seeds get dispersed by wind and therefore they may develop hair like structures that offer air resistance so that they are carried over long distances before falling on the ground. example- cotton seeds,
drumstick etc.
2) Seeds dispersed by water- Seeds which are dispersed by water develop a spongy outer coat that keeps the seed afloat on water. example- lotus, coconut etc.
3) Seeds dispersed by animals- Seeds which are dispersed by animals stick to bodies of animals passing by through tiny hooks in their coat and travel are carried to far off places. example- Xanthium, etc.
