Plaster of Paris is a Hydrated salt which contains half molecules of water of crystallisation...Its chemical name is Calcium Sulphate Hemihydrate or Calcium sulphate Half-hydrate...

Its Chemical Formula is
CaSO4 . 1/2 H2O or 2CaSO4 .H2O

It is prepared when CaSO4.2H2O is heated at 100deg celcius. CaSO4 is a Hydrated salt which contains 2 molecules of water of crystallisation and its chemical name is Calcium Sulphate Di-hydrate...and its Common name is Gypsum...

When Gypsum is heated at 100 deg celsius , it then looses its 3 / 4 th of water of crystallisation and become CaSO4 . 1/2 H20 on the product side...

The Chemical Name of Slaked Lime is Calcium Hydroxide and its chemical formula is Ca ( OH )2
