- Magnesium hydroxide is a base. Magnesium oxide is a new substance formed on burning of magnesium. Magnesium hydroxide is another new substance formed by mixing magnesium oxide with water. Hence it is a chemical change.
- The reaction between metallic aluminum and hydrochloric acid is what is known as an oxidation-reduction reaction or redox reaction. Both oxidation and reduction take place simultaneously.
- The reaction of zinc with copper sulphate can be written as: Zn+CuSO4→ZnSO4+Cu.
