• We use mobile phones for almost everything now. Gone are the days when we used them for only calling. Now, our lives revolve around it. They come in use for communicating through voice, messages, and mails. We can also surf the internet using a phone. Most importantly, we also click photos and record videos through our mobile’s camera.

Mobile phones can be used in many emergency situations and exigencies to gain valuable and timely help.

Misuses:

Cameras loaded on most mobile phones can be used to take pictures of women and unsuspecting children; these photos are then generally morphed, manipulated and circulated on the Internet. Texting can also be used to abuse or stalk people. Nearly every new commercial or consumer technology application can be misused for ulterior purposes apart from the known positive uses. The easy availability of mobile phones, and especially those with prepaid services, has ensured many subscribers among unscrupulous elements of society. Scammers, sophisticated criminals and thieves are known to indulge in criminal activities with the help of mobile phones.
