"Carbon dioxide is involved during respiraton",this statement is true. The carbon dioxide is taken from the atmosphere and releases oxygen for the breathing of humans and animals. Similarly,the plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. Hence carbondioxide gas is also involved in respiration.
