Conversation between a Mango tree and Tulasi plant

Mango: Hello! I am a mango tree here in this garden for 15 years.

Tulasi: Hello! It’s good to meet you. I have just been planted in the garden a few days ago.

Mango: I have grown and bore flowers and fruits for so many years. What do you do?

Tulasi: I’m short in height and won’t grow tall like you. I have small, green leaves which are used for medicinal purposes. I’m also worshipped by people.

Mango: Yes indeed! You are worshipped as a scared plant in the Hindu culture and you even hold a mythological importance.

Tulasi: Yes and I even learnt that your leaves and flowers are used during various Poojas in the Hindu culture.

Mango: My leaves and flowers are used in Lakshmi Pooja. But my fruits are the prize of summer. Everyone’s favourite summer fruit is mango.

Tulasi: Sure it is! This land where we grow there we have different roles to play. We may be different in nature and appearance but our importance can never be avoided by humans.

Mango: True! It was so nice talking to you.

Tulasi: Same here!
