Dear Diary,
Today was the day of the race. I reached the stadium well in advance. I was extremely nervous. My competitors looked calm and well prepared, and here I was, with no formal training and my heart threatening to jump out of my mouth. One look at my mother cheering for me from the stands reminded me that I had to prove myself. As the race started, I took off with all my determination. Yet, I somehow lost my stepping and slipped not once but thrice. There was no way I could let anything stop me and so, after each fall, I got up and resumed the race. I did not win, but the crowd cheered the loudest for me! Surprisingly, Mr. Narayan himself came forward to tell me that my training would start tomorrow. He was impressed with how I didn't give up. I just realised that the first step towards your dream has to come with a strong dose of determination.
