1) Combustion is the scientific word for burning. In a combustion reaction a substance reacts with oxygen from the air and transfers energy to the surroundings as light and heat. The products of a combustion reaction are called oxides.

2)  Combustible matter used to maintain fire, as coal, wood, oil, or gas, in order to create heat or power. something that gives nourishment; food. an energy source for engines, power plants, or reactors: Kerosene is used as jet engine fuel.

3)  The lowest temperature at which a substance catches fire and undergoes combustion liberating heat and light is called ignition temperature.

4) The substances which have very low ignition temperature and can easily catch fire with a flame are called inflammable substances. Examples of inflammable substances are petrol, alcohol, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), etc
