Write difference between:-

a) Asexual and Sexual reproduction

Sexual Reproduction

  • Two parents are involved
  • Newborn are similar to their parents
  • It requires the formation of gametes
  • Special organs for reproduction are required.
  • Examples – Mangoes, coconut, Hibiscus etc.

Asexual Reproduction

  • One parent is involved
  • A new generation is an identical or true copy of their parent
  • It doesn’t require the formation of gametes
  • Special organs for reproduction are not required
  • Examples – Potato, Jasmine, Rose, Yeast, Bryophyllum etc.

b) Binary and Multiple fission

Binary Fission

  • Nucleus divides into two parts.
  • It occurs during normal conditions.
  • It gives rise to two individuals.
  • Cytoplasm divides after each nuclear division.
  • Examples :- Amoeba.

Multiple Fission

  • Nucleus divides into many parts.
  • It takes place during unfavourable conditions (Encysted stage),
  • It forms many individuals.
  • Cytoplasm does not divide after every nuciear division.
  • Examples :- Plasmodium.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER !!!

Explanation:

a)asexual and sexual reproduction

sexual reproduction

• Two parents are involved

• Newborn are similar to their parents

• It requires the formation of gametes

• Special organs for reproduction are required

• Examples – Mangoes, coconut, Hibiscus etc.

Asexual reproduction

• One parent is involved

•.A new generation is an identical or true copy of their parent

•.It doesn’t require the formation of gametes

• Special organs for reproduction are not required

• Examples – Potato, Jasmine, Rose, Yeast, Bryophyllum etc.

b) binary and multiple fission.

Binary fission

• 2 daughter cells are formed from the splitting of the parent’s cell or Nucleus

• Occurs during favourable conditions.

• Divides only once.

• Both the Nucleus and cytoplasm divide simultaneously

• Includes definite pattern of division.

• Example: Amoeba, Bacteria, Euglena, etc.,

Multiple fission

• Many daughter cells are formed from the splitting of the parent’s cell or Nucleus

• Occurs during unfavourable conditions.

• Divides repeatedly.

• First, the nucleus divides and is surrounded by cytoplasm

• Has no definite pattern of division.

• Example: Plasmodium, Sporozoans, Algae, etc.
