Difference between eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells are as follows :

Eukaryotic cells.

  1. Eukaryotic cells are generally large in size. ( 5 - 100 um)
  2. There are more than one chromosomes.
  3. Membrane bound cells organelles present.
  4. Nuclear region is well defined and surrounded by a nuclear membrane.

Prokaryotic cells.

  1. Prokaryotic cells are generally small in size. (1um = 10^-6m)
  2. There is a single chromosome.
  3. Membrane bound cells organelles absent.
  4. Nuclear region is poorly defined due to absence of a nuclear membrane and known as nucleoid.
