Difference between eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells are as follows :
Eukaryotic cells.
- Eukaryotic cells are generally large in size. ( 5 - 100 um)
- There are more than one chromosomes.
- Membrane bound cells organelles present.
- Nuclear region is well defined and surrounded by a nuclear membrane.
Prokaryotic cells.
- Prokaryotic cells are generally small in size. (1um = 10^-6m)
- There is a single chromosome.
- Membrane bound cells organelles absent.
- Nuclear region is poorly defined due to absence of a nuclear membrane and known as nucleoid.
