Answer:

Homologous characters are those organs that are found to have the same origin and structure, but different functions. On the other hand, analogous characters are those organs that are found to be different in origin and structure, but have the same functions.

Examples:

HOMOLOGOUS ORGANS:

The limbs of a frog, lizard, bird and a human are all the same in structure, but all have different functions. For example, birds use their limbs to fly, lizards use their limbs to crawl, frogs use their limbs to hop and us humans use our limbs to do a million things, like singing, eating, reading and so on.

ANALOGOUS ORGANS:

The wings of a bird and that of a bat are different in structure but both have the same function, i.e, both the bird and the bat uses their wings to fly.

Hope I helped!
