Covalent bond has low melting point while ionic bond has high melting point .
Covalent bond exists as gaseous or liquid states and ionice bond exists as solids .
Covalent bond is only between non metallic atoms and ionice bond is between ions only .

1. Compund with Ionic bond contains ions whereas compound with covalent bond contains molecules and ions.
2. Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling point whereas covalent compounds have low melting and boiling point .
3. Ionic compounds are good conductors of electricity whereas covalent compounds are bad conductors of electricity.
