Differences between plant cell and Animals cell are :-

❍Plant Cell❍

  • A Plant cells are usually larger than animal cells.

  • The plasma membrane of a plant cell is

surrounded by a rigid cell wall made up of

cellulose.

  • Plastids (leucoplasts, chloroplasts, chromoplasts) are present in plant cells.
  • Vacuoles are present in abundance. They are larger in size.
  • Plant cells have many simpler units of Golgi

complex, called dictyosomes.

  • Centrioles have not been found in plant cells. (except in a few lower plants).
  • Cytokinesis takes place by cell-plate formation.
  • Plant cells usually have a regular shape.

❍ Animal Cells❍

  • Animal cells are generally small in size.
  • Cell wall is absent.
  • Plastids are absent.
  • Vacuoles are less in number and smaller in

size.

  • Animal cells have a single highly elaborate

Golgi complex.

  • Animal cells possess centrioles.
  • Cytokinesis takes place by constriction during cell division.
  • Animal cells are usually irregular in shape.
