sandy soil :- as the name suggests it mainly consists of sand particles. you already know that sand particles are large in size . this type of soil is not compact . it cannot retain water . it is mainly found in coastal and desert areas.

clayey soil:- this type of soil is mainly made up of clay particles . this type of soil is very compact so it is hard to plough. it retains water for a longer period of time.

loamy soil:- this is the ideal type of soil for plant growth. since it is not too hard it can be ploughed easily. it is fertile and contains nutrients essential for growth. this soil is well aerated

CLAYEY SOIL: Clayey soil is a kind of soil which contain high percentage of fine particles and colloidal substance and becomes sticky when wet.
