They're actually the same thing. Just that when editing a project you can switch between the 2 and see the changes.

Storyboard is a heading of any story. Storyboard is written for understanding the body of any story. In different types of stories there are storyboards. Storyboard is written by picture or letters.
Timeline is written by date, or title. It is maintained by scale, because every timeline should be in well format, which is the main attraction of a story.
