Write different d block and p block
Answers
Answer:
the following are the differences between the p block elements and D block elements
1. p block elements have their last electron in p subshell where as the D block elements have their last electron in the d subshell
2. p block elements do not show variable valency ware ise D block elements 2 show variable valency is due to presence of vacant D orbitals.
3. they have poor shielding effect where as p subshell has strong shielding effect and therefore gives rise to inert pair effect.
4. D block elements are generally metals whereas p block elements are all nonmetals.
5. they are also known as transition elements because they have vacant D orbitals.
D block :
Elements placed in groups 3 to 12 in the middle of the modern periodic table are called transition elements .
these elements have two incompletely filled outermost shells.
P block :
Elements in group 13 to 17 and zero group are called p block elements .
they contains 3 to 8 electrons in the outermost shell
