Once a boy’s cycle got punctured and he went to cycle mechanic. He had the following conversation with him:
Boy: Uncle, could you please fix my cycle?
Mechanic: What is the problem with it?
Boy: Uncle, it got punctured. As I readied it to ride with my friends, I found the tyre flat! It is my first ever experience with a punctured tyre!
Mechanic: Oh I see! Don’t worry; I will fix it in 5 minutes.
Boy: Wow! That’s great. Uncle how will you do it? I am curious to know.
Mechanic: I will do it in front of you. You can see yourself.
Boy: How will you take the tyre off the rim? What is inside the tyre?
Mechanic: I will use these two levers to pry the tyre off the rim. Then I will fill the tyre with the air. After that I will immerse the tube in the water. The bubbles will show the puncture. Then I will file the punctured spot to make it rough. Finally I will put this sticker on the puncture and press it for a few minutes.
Boy: That’s wonderful. Will the tyre never puncture after that?
Mechanic: No, the tyre may get punctured any time. If anything sharp, such as nail, sliver of glass pierces the tyre, it will puncture again. So be careful.
Boy: Thank you uncle. How much do I have to pay?
Mechanic: Welcome. You have to pay rupees 15 for the puncture.
