Bauxite is a very important aluminium ore therefore, it is very important for us because aluminium is used in various industries. Bauxite is used in cement, chemicals, face makeup, soda cans, dishwashers, siding for houses, and other aluminum products also glass cutting tools.

Bauxite is the main mineral that we get aluminium from , but the process is not that simple as it contains other elements such as iron as well . The ore is crushed and mixed with chemicals that makes the aluminium float to the top and gets drawn off. This then goes through a drying process to collect a powder , how ever this still is not pure aluminium and goes into a furnace and melted down ,final impurities float to the top as slag and again get taken off leaving the pure aluminium to be poured into moulds that produce ingots . Bauxite is mainly found around the equator and Australia is one of the world's suppliers.
