Back in 2012, when I was about to get into a serious relationship with her, we decided to meet casually to analyse if we both are really compatible with each other.

Two tier cities in India don't have much independence on either side when you are really thinking to get into a relationship.

After one year of talking, chatting on a cell phone, we decided to meet in a public park.

6 years back, I didn’t have any dressing sense to carry and was too simple for my generation to date. I was plump with all the fat concentrated on my face.

Adding to this ugly feature, I wore a boxer with a cheap t-shirt and slippers to glitter my beauty. I saw her for the first time in all those years. She was as white as milk with perfect body statistics wearing faded jeans and a skinny fit top with no curves getting out of shape.

On the other hand, I looked like an ugly version of a man suffering from a midlife crisis.

She saw me and rolled her eyes. I became conscious out of being judged and seeing an out of the league girl in front of me.

She started laughing and asked me if I’m usually like this to which I replied: Yes.

She smiled and we spent some time together.

Later that night, when we were talking on the phone, I asked her about my attire to which she replied in a very straightforward manner: If I never knew you for who you’re, I would still invest my time in knowing you.

I was shocked.

She added: Every girl has some different taste for boys. Some see looks while others see the intellect and nature of living but real girls will always prefer the latter one because looks are depreciating asset but latter part can’t depreciate at any cost. You just need to find a right woman for yourself and I guess, you have already found it.

And that was the end. That lasted for six years.
