Your Solution:
The Green Revolution is referred to as the process of increasing agricultural production by incorporating modern tools and techniques. Green Revolution is associated with agricultural production. It is the period when agriculture of the country was converted into an industrial system due to the adoption of modern methods and techniques like the use of high yielding variety seeds, tractors, irrigation facilities, pesticides, and fertilizers. Until 1967, the government majorly concentrated on expanding the farming areas. But the rapidly increasing population than the food production called for a drastic and immediate action to increase yield which came in the form of the Green Revolution.
The Green Revolution was implemented by the Government of India for the modernisation of agriculture. The programme was based on providing high - yielding variety(HYV) or hybrid seeds, pesticides, fertilisers, and other inputs, to farmers. Green Revolution programmes were introduced only in areas that had assured irrigation because sufficient water was necessary for the new seeds and methods of cultivation. Wheat and rice-growing areas were the important target areas.
Disadvantage: A lack of biodiversity in the global structures of croplands has been established. With one ravaging disease, it can be washed out. It decreases the soil quality used for growing crops. It needs the use of agricultural methods that are not sustainable. It causes health effects that with its activities we have to remember.
Advantage: The amount of greenhouse gas emissions will help to reduce this. It allows us to create more food than conventional methods of growing. In uncooperative conditions, it offers us with predictable yields. It allows a decline in food costs for the world economy. The deforestation problems on our planet have been minimized.

Answer:
Higher yield due to the use of HYV seeds. Machines like harvesters, tractors and threshers have made ploughing and harvesting faster and easier. Higher yield enabled farmers to sell the surplus food in the market and earn more. Pesticides and insecticides are able to protect the crops from pests and insects.
