CuO + H₂ ----> Cu + H₂O

1) According to the reactivity series of elements, only those element's oxides can be reduced by Hydrogen which have less reactivity than Hydrogen.

2) Some of the metals that are below Hydrogen in reactivity series are Copper, Gold, Platinum, Tungsten, Mercury, Silver.

3) So, These metal's oxides can be reduced to respective metals on reaction with Hydrogen.
