Cholera :-

1.)Cholera is an infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhoea,which might lead to dehydration and even death if it is left untreated.

2.)It is caused by eating food or dring water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae.

3.)The causative agent of cholera, the gram-negative bacterium Vibrio cholerae,is a facultive pathogen that has both human and environmental stages in its life cycle.

4.)The deadly effects of the disease are th result of a toxin which the bacteria produces in the small intestine.

5.)Cholera is mostly found in the tropics- in particular Asia,Africa ,India,Middle East.

Prevention of Cholera :-

• The disease can be prevented by using latrines ,or other sanitation systems like chemical toilets, for the disposal of feces.
• Wash hands with soap and safe water after defecating.
• Clean the latrines and surfaces contaminated with feces using a solution of 1 part household bleach to 9 parts of water.

Diet To Be Consumed :-

It is advised by the dietitians to eat lemon,onion, vinegar and mint in the diet when the person is infected with Cholera.

Avoid solid and uncooked foods and uncooked vegetables until there's a complete recovery.
