Achievements of Green revolution in India :-

The Indian economy earlier was a very backward and stagnant economy the agricultural production is also very low. But due to the agrarian reforms our economy got benefited.

Increase in Crop productivity :-

There was a sustainable growth in the productivity of Indian farms .

Earlier the productivity of wheat was 600 kg per hectare in 1951. But in 2018 it was recorded as around 3,000 kg per hectare. Similarly in rice production it was only 665 kg per hectare in 1951 but recorded 2500 kg per hectare in 2018 .

This increase the capacity of Indian farms to produce rice wheat and other goods also .

Rise in Acreage :-

Due to use of HYV seeds double cropping in a year became possible . Which lead to sustainable rise in gross area under cultivation.

Commercial Farming :-

Earlier the farmer produced only as much grain which is used for their family survival and for next year cropping but due to the green Revolution productivity got increased and now agriculture become a source of income also.

Self sufficiency :-

Increase in crop production made India self sufficient now we don't required to import food grain from outer countries. A revolutionary rise in output helped India in achieving growth with self-sufficiency .

It was limited to only few region because :-

1. Most farmers in India suffer uncertainty of weather.

2. Unavailability of high income for purchasing HYV seeds.

3. Lack of irrigation facility in every region of India.
