What's photosynthesis?

The process of conversion of light energy to get food and energy is known as photosynthesis, which is done by herbivorous plants (unlike some plants which are carnivorous eg. Venus Flytrap).

The name, photosynthesis itself suggest,

Photo(light)+synthesis(to act upon)=To get energy by light.

In the process of photosynthesis,

these substances are required: Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen and sunlight.

So, the chemical equation can be given as follows,

$6CO_2+6H_2O\ \implies C_6H_{12}O_6+6O_2$

So, in this process carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight gives Glucose and oxygen.

Three steps take place after this:
