SO2 is the common formula for Sulfur dioxide. The compound exhibits two possible resonance structures offering it with a consistent hybrid structure.

Explanation:

Even if this is the case still it is obvious that in case of Sulfur dioxide, a third possible Lewis structure is also possible. This is also true as the third Lewis structure is also considered to be more stable as compared to other two mentioned.

In case of Lewis structure, SO2 each of the two oxygen atoms contribute with 6 electrons.
