Acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity of the body with respect to the elapsed time.. A positive acceleration is a positive change of velocity per unit time. As the elapsed time is doubled, the change in the body’s velocity is also doubled.

Negative acceleration is the inverse of positive acceleration. As the elapsed time is increasing, the change in the velocity of the body is decreasing When the acceleration is plotted against time in a coordinate axis, the slope of the line is negative. This phenomenon happens when the brakes of a moving vehicle is applied to stop it. The vehicle slows down until it stops moving.

Zero acceleration happens when the object travels in a constant motion. Its speed is constant in equal intervals of time. The speed of a moving body is not changing as time elapses
