The Rydberg formula calculates the wavelengths of the spectral line. The formula was described mainly as a Balmer sequence generalization for all atomic hydrogen electron transitions.
- The Rydberg equation is defined as -
1/ λ = Rh ( 1/n²i - 1/n²f)
where λ is the wavelength of the radiation, Rh is the Ryderberg's constant
where Rh = 1.09737 × 10`7m
nf is the higher energy level = 7 (Third line from the Brackett series)
ni is the lower energy level = 4 (Brackett series)
1/ λ = 1.09737 × 10`7 ( 1/4² - 1/7²)
λ = 2164.9mm
