- Abundance of labour in market affected the lives of the workers.
- Getting a job dependent on existing networks of friendship and kin relationship.
- Many job seekers had to wait weeks spending Nights under bridges or night shelter and some had to sleep in old buildings and in the shelter which where controlled by the poor law authority.
