Tropical evergreen forests are dense, multi-layered, and contain many types of flora and fauna. These forests are located in areas with heavy rainfall (more than 200 cm of annual rainfall). They are very dense. Even sunlight cannot reach the ground.
These evergreen forests are found in warm and wet regions. ii) These are found where the rainfall is more than 200cm, with a short dry season. iii) These are found in the rainy slopes of western ghats,plains of West Bengal and Odisha and the North-eastern India

- Tropical evergreen forests are also known as tropical rain forest.
- These are found near equator and close to poles.
- These regions are hot.
- They receive heavy rainfall during the year.
- With no dry season, trees do not shed their leaves although.
- These are called evergreen.
- The thick canopies of the closely spaced trees do not allow the sunlight to penetrate the forest even in day time.
- Hardwood trees like Rosewood, Ebony etc. are common trees.
