 \large\bold{Sulphuric \: acid}

Sulphuric acid is also know as oil of vitrols.

▶Formula of sulphuric acid is :--

  \large \boxed{\bold{H_2SO_4}}

▶It is a strong and a non volatile acid and is also known as "king of acids" as is of high use.

▶Sulphuric acid is dibasic as it ionises in aqueous solution to give out two hydrogen ion.

▶It shows all acidic properties like:-

◼When reacted with a metal gives out a colourless odorless gas hydrogen.

 2Na + H_2SO_4 \longrightarrow Na_2SO_4+ H_2\uparrow

◼When react with a carbonates or bicarbonate to give salt water and carbon dioxide.

 Na_2CO_3 + H_2SO_4 \longrightarrow Na_2SO_4+ H_2O + CO_2

◼When reacys with a sulphite or sulphide to give sulphur dioxide.

 Na_2SO_3 + H_2SO_4 \longrightarrow Na_2SO_4+ H_2O + SO_2

◼Reacts with a base or metallic oxide to give out salt and water.

 2NAOH + 2H_2SO_4 \longrightarrow Na_2SO_4+ 2H_2O

▶Concentrated sulphuric acid is an strong oxidising agent which involves addition of oxygen and removal of oxygen as it gives out nascent oxygen on thermal decomposition.
