The importance of soil testing and water testing are as follows:

  • Soil testing helps in knowing the level of the nutrients available in it.  
  • Soil testing also helps in knowing whether the soil has excess of N and P in it or not, if it is in excessive amount, it will harm the crops.
  • Soil testing also provides the information of how much fertilizer to be used, to get good yield.
  • Water testing is done to not harm the soil. Many times the water has high salinity or toxicity.
  • This type of impurities affects the quality of water and thus depletes the soil of phosphorus and calcium.  
  • Drinking water should also be checked regularly. If we drink contaminated water, it may lead to diseases related to stomach, skin etc.
