Starch breaks down into maltose with the help of Salivary Amylase enzyme.

Stomach:

HCl activates Pepsinogen into Pepsin. Pepsin helps break down proteins into polypeptides or aminoacids.

Small Intestine:

Bile from Liver makes medium alkaline for Pancreatic and intestinal enzymes to act upon it.

Enterokinase activates Trypsinogen (From pancreas) into Trypsin which breaks down further proteins into Amino acids. Major water absorption occurs here.

Large Intestine:

Remaining water is absorbed and solid waste is sent down to rectum.

Rectum:

Stores faeces until expulsion.

Anus:

Faeces expelled with the help of Anal sphincters.
