the mechanism of breathing in humans starts with the intake of breathe with our nostrils. as we breathe in the air from nostrils reaches the nasal cavity which is the empty space behind the nostrils and next the air reaches the pharynx which is a common pathway for the intake of air and food here the food and air are separated by a specialised structure called epiglottis which is regulated by the nervous activities so they are separated at pharynx reaches the larynx which can be called the voice box of humans and if the speaking is not done the recharge trachea and get separated into two divisions known as bronchus which lead into lungs and this Pankaj Kasat divides into bronchial of switches off the smallest sub divisions and later into the alveolus which are the empty air Chambers surrounded by blood capillaries which make the final process of breathing. here the oxygen present in air gets diffusers into the blood in capillaries are the process of diffusion and finally reaches the blood and similarly the carbon dioxide produced in the blood by the process of respiration get back into the alveolus and follows the path back

When we inhale air,it passes through our nostrils into the nasal cavity. from the nasal cavity, the air reaches our lungs through the wind pipe.lungs are present in the chest cavity.this cavity is sorrounded by ribs.a large muscular sheet called diaphram forms the floor of the chest cavity.breathing involves the movement of the diaphram and the rib cage.during inhalation, ribs moves up and outwards and diaphram moves down.this movement increases space in our chest cavity and air rushes into the lungs.the lungs get filled with air.during exhalation, ribs move down and inwards while diaphram moves up to its former position.this redues the size of the chest cavity and air is pushed out of the lungs.
