The Important properties of electric lines of force are following:_

The electric lines of force are imaginary lines.

The electric lines of force starts (emanates) from positive charge and terminate (ends) at Negative charge.

The tangent to an electric field line at any point shows the direction of the field at that point.

They are closer where the electric field is stronger and spread where the field is weak.

Electric lines of force can't pass through a conductor. So, the interior of the conductor is free from the influence of the electric field.
