Question:

Write down the rational numbers in the form of p/q whose numerators and denominators are given below : 1. (-5) ×4 and -5+4 , 2.64÷4 and 32-18 .

\huge\star{\green{\underline{\mathrm{Answer: -}}}}

1. Numerator = (-5) ×4 = -20

Denominator = -5 + 4 = - 1

\longrightarrow rational number = \huge{\frac{-20}{-1}} = 20 .

2. Numerator = 64÷4 = 16

Denominator = 32 - 18 = 14

\longrightarrow rational number = \huge{\frac{16}{14}} = \huge{\frac{8}{7}}

Additional information :

Multiplication and division of signs

( - ) × ( - ) = ( + )

( - ) ÷ ( - ) = ( + )

( - ) × ( + ) = ( - )

( - ) ÷ ( + ) = ( - )

Answer:

1. Numerator = (-5) ×4 = -20

Denominator = -5 + 4 = -1

rational number = -20/-1

=20

2. Numerator = 64÷4 = 16

Denominator = 32 - 18 = 14

Rational number = 16/14

= 8/7
