Answer:

  • Zinc reacts with the ‘dilute sulphuric acid’ to form the ‘zinc sulphate’ and ‘hydrogen gas’ is evolved.

The chemical reaction in between zinc and sulphuric acid is as follows:

                    z n+H_{2} S O_{4} \rightarrow Z n S O_{4}+H_{2}

  • From the reaction, it is clearly states that it is a single displacement reaction.
  • In this kind of reaction, the Sulphate ion is added to the zinc to form zinc sulphate and remaining hydrogen in the sulphuric acid is evolved as hydrogen gas.
