The poem "The Seven Ages" is a marvelous poem written by William Shakespeare. In this poem the poet describes how a person enters this wonderful world and plays his part and leaves this world. He says that we humans are just like actors on a stage who enter, play their roles, which according to him are seven different roles for everyone, and then leave this world when we die.
1) The first stage in a person's life is that of an infant who cries in his nurses arms unable to say anything.
2) The second stage is that of a school boy who doesn't want to go to school and makes excuses and crawls unwillingly to school with a small bag with him.
3) The third stage is that of a lover who doesn't know anything and is only concerned about his love and burns like a furnace, singing sad songs.
4) The fourth stage marks the soldier who is ready to do anything to gain reputation in front of others not knowing that it is not long lasting just like a bubble. He is even ready to face the canon's mouth to gain respect from others.
5) The fifth stage is the justice who is full of wise sayings and experiences and has a good fat stomach.
6) The sixth stage is that of a slippered pantaloon who is no more connected to the outer world and remains at home the whole time and now has a shrunk body and i not capable of doing much work.
7) The last stage that ends the journey of a person is Second childishness where a person again becomes like a child and needs the support of the others and forgets everything and is also forgotten by all.
