Oviparous Animals

  • Oviparous animals are those animals which lays egg.  

  • Eggs are covered by shells.

  • Shells protect the baby inside .

  • Example - Birds,fish ,reptiles etc.

Viviparous Animals

  • Viviparous animals are those animals which gives birth to live offspring.

  • The development takes place inside the body and nourishment at foetal stage is obtained from placenta.

  • Viviparous animals provide nourishment to their young ones with milk.

  • They have milk producing mamallary glands.

  • Examples - All mammals except platypus and echidna are viviparous animals.
