Answer:-

Let x = 0.4 bar

So,

x = 0.444444...

[multiple with 10 in both Sides]

=> 10x = 4.444444..

=> 10x = 4 + x [ ∵ 0.444... = x ]

=> 10x - x = 4

=> 9x = 4

=> x = $\large{\tt{\frac{4}{9}}}$

∴ 0.4 as rational number = 4/9
