In light reaction in the presence of light( sunlight)

the molecule of water(H20) undergoes pholysis reaction which breaks the molecule into molecular O2 and H+ ions and electrons(e-).

These electrons and protons are used up in production of assimilatory power in the form of NADPH( Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate ) and ATP ( Adenosine triphosphate )

Thus the reaction becomes

H20 + sunlight( in photolysis ) -------------->

NADPH + ATP.
