no reaction will take place as iron is less reactive and hence cannot displace aluminium from aluminium sulphate

HarrySangwan: 2FeSO4+2Al- Al2(SO4)3+3Fe
Vidushii11: read question.
HarrySangwan: where's the question
Vidushii11: it us written that iron is added to aluminium sulphate
HarrySangwan: ooh that's ok then reaction will be there
HarrySangwan: no reaction*
Vidushii11: ys
HarrySangwan: ya i confused earlier now I agree with you

Answer:

Since Aluminium is more reactive than Iron, therefore no reaction will take place and hence no equation for the reaction.

Explanation:

Step 1: Identify the position of the given metals in the reactivity series.

We need to know which one of the two is more reactive.

According to the reactivity series, Aluminium is more reactive than Iron since it's above iron in the reactivity series.

Step 2: Explain how the reactivity rates affects rate of reaction.

For a reaction to take place iron should have been more reactive.

Since this is not the case then no reaction will take place.

Iron cannot displace the Sulpahate ions from Aluminium.

For this reason there is no equation for the reaction.
