Pollution in Bangalore.
Bangalore generates 2500 tonnes of solid waste every day, and this waste is often disposed off in a very unscientific manner. And this worsens the situation in the polluted 'garden city'.
Once upon a time, walkers in the famous Cubbon Park and Lal Bagh used to enjoy the fresh air during their walks. Today, a majority of them are forced to wear pollution masks during their morning and evening walks.
Rapid industrialisation and a surge in the number of vehicles have made this once beautiful city explode into metropolitan nightmare. Bengaluru is no longer the namma Bengaluru that it used to be.
Thanks to the unscientific disposal of waste, pollution levels have risen to unprecedented levels in Bangalore.
Experts point out that apart from the industrial and vehicular pollution, the waste disposal management by hospitals too is in a pitiable condition. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board has found that several industries and hospitals do not have a proper solid waste management system.
So how do these industries and hospitals get rid of their waste? They dump hazardous waste into landfill sites and even water bodies. Incidentally, India generates 1.2 million tonnes of solid waste everyday, of which only 60 per cent is recycled.
Apart from the pollution caused by industries, the rising levels of vehicular pollution is also a cause of concern in Bangalore. Currently, 26 lakh vehicles ply on the narrow roads of Bangalore; 21 lakh are two and three wheelers while the rest are four wheelers.
Today, in namma Bengaluru, air and water pollution levels are at an all time high. There is no denying the fact that Bangalore has made its mark on the world map thanks to the software boom. However, this has come at a high price.

yes I'm from Bangalore.
Bangalore is one important and major city in India. So,many people from india and other countries come here for work.
In Bangalore there r many MNC, IT-BT companies. The people working here settle there itself, this caused over population. The need of resources became more and more . People use their vehicles or government vehicles for transportation .These vehicles emit more smoke and dust.Due to this air is polluted , this causes many diseases to the people. No one even cares to reduce the usage of motor vehicles in the city.
The level of honking and noise pollution is also unbearable due to the brainless IT crowd over there.
Garbage is burnt at night in Bangalore because Waste management is a failure in this city. Ambulances get stuck for several hours in the Bangalore traffic.
Bangalore once had its own River. Its name was Vrishabhavathi. This river's water was used for drinking.
Today, River Vrishabhavathi is an open garbage canal.
In the 1970s, Bangalore had around 300 lakes. Today, there are only 18 lakes left in Bangalore. Nearly 10 out of those 18 lakes are highly polluted. These remaining 10 highly polluted lakes include Bellandur lake, Varthur lake, Ulsoor lake, Subramanyapura lake, Challaghatta lake etc.
this is water pollution.
bangalore is green city 10 years back but today people had made so worst its become dirty city.my condition is green environment is dieing here in future people will suffer like any thing and neither politicans are ready to do any thing.
I don't understand why people go to Bangalore and spoil that city. If you're complaining about pollution, do something about it, or please leave Bangalore.
For making once again as green city
the Government is striving hard , but people r not aware about that .
I ask people to use their brain to reduce pollution. Many Fly overs have been built and beside these many plants have been grown.this is good to control air pollution. Many schools r also making awareness and taking measures to reduce pollution.
so like this the people of Bangalore r working to prevent pollution.
I hope its helpful. ✌✌✌✌✌
