Just because something is big, shiny, and expensive doesn't make it valuable. To me, something is valuable only when it holds meaning and is unique to a person. Sure, a brand new computer and an enormous diamond ring are nice, but unless they have a story behind them, they aren't so spectacular. There are certain material items in my life that I couldn't live without because they help define who I am. That is why my three most prized possessions are my car, my rifle, and my cat.
One of the most prized possessions I own is my car. My car is a dark green, two door, 1995 Honda Accord. It has dark tinted windows and shiny rims. My Honda takes me everywhere. Instead of having to wait on my mom to drop me off places, I can simply drive myself. My friends and I spend countless hours just driving around town and having the best time. However, it's not just a fun thing to own. Owning my own car means I have many responsibilities like paying insurance, getting gas, and keeping it clean. Although it is a lot of work to keep up, the amount of freedom my car gives me definitely out weighs the responsibilities.
Another prized possession of mine is my rifle. This isn't an ordinary rifle used to shoot with. I twirl my wooden rifle for the school frontline. It is white with red and black decorative tape. To me, my rifle symbolizes much more than just something to twirl. It means that I have worked very hard and diligently to be able to perform with it. At football games when I toss it into the air for a big throw and catch it, I get such an adrenaline rush. I spend countless hours practicing to perfect my skills and competing in competitions, but it has all been worth it.
