Answer:
Will Imitating Others Lead Us To Good?
"One of the greatest regrets in life would be, not being yourself."
-Shannon L. Alder
Often, we come across teenagers trying to imitate their idols, actors and singers, etc. because they feel like they are an embodiment of perfection, as portrayed by the media. But this affects the teenager's mentality by a huge amount, they lose themselves somewhere in the process of Imitating Others. This impacts their overall demeanour, and changes the way they look at themselves. Kids who are obese, dark, ectomorphs, etc. become increasingly self-conscious, and lose confidence to the limit when they are ashamed to even look at themselves. I think all of this is the direct result of comparing themselves with others who are either physically or maybe mentally stronger/better than them. And comparison is again a result of imitation. Thus, I believe trying to copy others would never lead us to good, rather it can even drown us in the sea of self-hate, depression, social-anxiety and what not. On the other hand, finding oneself, trying to be oneself, leads people to success and self-love, and makes them what they are, i.e, unique. We were all made unique for a reason, we were all gifted with different talents for a reason, we were made who we are for a reason. And here we are, trying to be others because we think we aren't good enough. However, we must accept ourselves just the way we are, and respect ourselves. Because that's how others will learn to respect us.
