The commonly known Mango tree, scientifically belongs the genus Mangifera Indica also called as the Indian Mango tree. But more broadly speaking there are many varieties of the Mango tree that are covered under the general genus Mangifera of various types.
The Mango tree is a variety of a big sized tree that bears the popular fruit called as the Mango. The Mango fruit is roundish to heart-like in shape and comes in various sizes, roughly the average size of a human fist, or even double that size in some varieties. It is a mixture of yellow, pink, orange, red colours when ripe and raw mango fruit is deep green in colour.
The Mango fruit has a unique sweet taste when ripe and the raw Mango is sour-salty in taste. Both the ripe and raw Mango fruits are used and consumed widely in India, Asia and exported and consumed across the world. The Indian subcontinent is the largest cultivator of Mango trees, followed by other Asian countries like China, Thailand, etc. From here the fruit is exported to all countries of the world.

तुम्हांला आता मी हा असा महावृक्ष दिसतोय. आज माझं वय शंभराच्या वर गेलेलं आहे. खरं तर जन्माच्या वेळी मी अगदी लहानसं रोपटं होतो. हळूहळू मोठा होत गेलो.
काही समजूतदार व्यक्तींनी माझ्या खोडाभोवती छानसा पार बांधला. तुम्ही आता बसलाय ना तो पार! येणारा-जाणारा वाटसरू त्यावर अगदी सहज क्षणभर तरी विसावतो. माझ्या सहवासात त्याच्या जिवाला थोडंतरी सुख मिळतं. येथे बायका-मुलं, तऱ्हेतऱ्हेचे लोक यांची सतत वर्दळ असते. मुलं
उत्साहाने बागडतात. बायका आपापल्या सुखदुःखांची देवाणघेवाण करतात. काही उत्साही माणसे तावातावाने वेगवेगळ्या विषयांवर चर्चा करतात.
कित्येक चळवळ्या माणसांनी आखलेल्या समाजसुधारणेच्या योजना मी ऐकल्या आहेत. माझ्या अंगाखांदयांवर बागडणाऱ्या पक्ष्यांचा किलबिलाट मी ऐकतो आणि या एका जागी स्थिर राहूनही मला देशोदेशीच्या हकिकती कळतात. माणसांच्या कितीतरी पिढ्या मी पाहिल्या आहेत. त्यामुळे माणसांच्या सुखदुःखांचा मी साक्षीदारच बनलो आहे.
आम्हां वृक्षांना माणूस हा प्राणी खरोखरच खूप प्रिय बनलेला आहे. त्यामुळे आम्ही माणसाला शक्य ती सर्व मदत करतो. आमचा संपूर्ण देह माणसाच्या पूर्ण उपयोगाला येतो. तर्‍हेतर्‍हेच्या चवदार फळांचा आस्वाद आम्ही माणसाला देतो. पानांचेही कितीतरी उपयोग आहेत.
आमच्या फांदया-खोड यांचा सरपणासाठी, बांधकामासाठी, फर्निचर बनवण्यासाठी, कागद तयार करण्यासाठी उपयोग करू देतो. आम्ही हवा शुद्ध ठेवतो. जमिनीतील पाण्याचे स्रोत घरून ठेवतो. त्यामुळे विहिरी, नदयानाले यांना पाण्याचा पुरवठा होतो. म्हणजे आम्ही पर्यावरणाचा समतोल राखतो. यात आमचा फायदा काय? काहीच नाही! आम्ही हे सारं तुमच्यासाठी करतो.
