Indian freedom fight started due to the same reason as in the case of revolutions and freedom fights in other countries. The policies of the British were very cruel and they looked down upon Indians as slaves.

They took away the properties of rich people and defeated and killed the kings by shrewdness and cheating. The great Indian subcontinent was step by step overpowered regionwise by the British through the East India co. in Calcutta.

Many Indian freedom movements and campaigning were started by our freedom fights to bring the Indian people together and fought against the Britishers and their unfair policies.

Some of the great movements of that time are The Indian Mutiny of 1857 or Revolt of 1857, Quit India movement, Salt Satyagraha or Dandi March, Civil Disobedience Movement, Non-Cooperation Movement, Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Khilafat Movement, Swadeshi movement and boycott movement and lots more movements are conducted by our freedom fighters and as a result of these movements Britishers finally raised their hands and set India free after the rule of over 100 years.

The wealth of India, its innocence and traditional culture of being nice to foreign guests are the main causes for the British to seize power and occupy it.

Thus, it took 90 years from 1847 to make the suffering, poor and innocent people of India to take to streets and make the British realize that they cannot control India anymore.
